It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of John Super to the position of President of LessonLab for Pearson Education. John Super is coming to us from Plato Learning where he has worked in various executive capacities since 1990. John has reported to the CEO since 1997 and most recently was Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. Prior to joining PLATO Learning in 1990 as Workplace Account Manager, John served in sales and other capacities with Wicat Systems and Computer Curriculum Corporation. At Plato Learning, John was an integral member of the executive team and contributed significantly to the company's rapid growth and success. In partnership with the CEO, John guided the company merger & acquisition strategy to achieve seven acquisitions over a three-year period and grow the company revenue from approximately $47 million to over $140 million. John developed, published and monitored the company’s vision, mission, values and strategic objectives, and used the strategic plan to establish the basis for organic growth complemented by acquisitions. John provided direct strategic sales management leadership and contract negotiation to envision and complete the company’s largest sale ever ($17 million Idaho contract) in 2003. He continuously provided internal cross-departmental management oversight and direction to ensure conformance to the company’s strategic objectives, and assure the marketing, sales, product development and operational and support activities were fully aligned. He has been recognized for great work on operational efficiencies, general trouble-shooting, problem solving and mentoring the staff. Plato currently has a $25 million professional development business derived from a combination of K-12 and community college products. John was instrumental in Plato’s success in this area. He brings to LessonLab a passionate commitment to the importance of teaching and professional learning, as well as professional association and school district relationships that will be beneficial to our sales efforts.
