Jeff Schon, a consultant in our New York office, brings over 30 years of multi-faceted experience in education, digital media and television. Capitalizing on his deep knowledge and expertise with content driven businesses, Jeff's search practice covers a wide range of functional areas. He is uniquely qualified to support the specialized requirements for executive talent that exist within the education, publishing and digital media industries.

 Just prior to joining The Cheyenne Group, Jeff spent the majority of his efforts focused on all aspects of the education industry including consulting for a number of companies including, Discovery Education, Primedia Software-on-Demand, Learning.com and the Rowland Reading Foundation. From 2001 through 2004, Jeff was Vice President Educational Technology at Scholastic Education, where he was responsible for the development of educational software programs for pre-K-12 institutions, including the highly successful reading intervention program, Read 180.
 
Prior to Scholastic, Jeff was President and Chief Executive Officer of Grolier Interactive, a division of Grolier that developed, marketed and distributed the highly regarded Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, DVD and online. Before joining Grolier, Jeff was President and Chief Executive Officer of Living Books, a Random House/Broderbund Company that published the most successful line of children's interactive storybooks, including titles based on Dr. Seuss's works.  
 
Before entering the software industry, Jeff worked for twenty years in film and television. He was Vice President Production at Hearst Entertainment Distribution. Prior to Hearst, Jeff produced and/or directed programs ranging from documentary programs for PBS to documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada. Jeff's productions have received many awards over the course of his career. These include Emmy awards in eleven categories for Pee-Wee's Playhouse, a CODIE award for Best Children's Software Stellaluna.
 

Jeff serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Stephen's School, in Rome, Italy and holds a B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College. He is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America New Media Council and The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
